Why Chiropractic The word chiropractic is of Greek derivation and, literally translated, means "done by hand". Chiropractic is a system of therapy that helps maintain a patient's health and well-being through spinal manipulation, which involves adjusting the vertebrae in the spinal column. Additional therapeutic procedures may include the use of deep tissue stretching, massage, traction, active release technique, ice and heat. The chiropractic approach to patient care recognizes that many factors affect health, including exercise, diet, rest, environment and heredity.
